Atlanta is another prime example. They specialize in putting your connecting flight departure three or four concourses away from the one where your first one arrived, and then making sure that your first plane is late and you get brainwashed into thinking that fifteen minutes is plenty of time to cross the entire airport and board your plane before it leaves without you. This way the staff gets to see lots of emotions as they book you on a later flight out since you missed yours.

Something for me to 'look forward to' if I get to that part of the US...

I was having this conversation with my brother-in-law and he also mentioned that the Amsterdam airport is very confusing. He had 45 minutes between flights, and still managed to miss it.
