Thanks for that, lil. smiley - ta

With my current low blood pressure, I guess I was a bit too optimistic about donating blood myself, it's just not meant for some of us. smiley - hug

Oh, I'm sure it's still on stock somewhere, I think there's a certain waiting period to consider before it goes to a person in need. smiley - smiley
But yes, I'm quite pleased he actually went and donated blood. smiley - cheers

Wish I could find someone to donate blood for me... I think there's a bit of a family history of dodgy haemoglobin - nothing that has any day to day effect, but that tends to leave me unconscious when I lose too much of the red stuff (I once had some minor dental surgery, losing a fair bit of blood in the process, and shortly afterwards collapsed and hit my head on a wall, nearly undoing all the dentist's good work smiley - laugh)

Mind you, my girlfriend is O Rh-, so her blood is far more important than my 'common as muck' A+

Well, it depends on where you live, apparently. In Polynesia about 70% of the peole are 0, whereas in Europe it's *only* 43% and A is 46%. You're right about the Rh - though, that's only 15% world wide, which is why I really would like to donate blood, but alas, it doesn't look as if this is ever going to happen.
