Sure changing our mud perspective has freed our eyes and hands, given us legs, but it seems we've largely lost our sense of squish. So, sometimes when I'm on the wet earth and the windwet flys right in the eyes, well, I miss it.

Hmm. Strange meeting this, I came searching the guide for snowdrops before I write some thing floral and found this intriguing entry.
And yes, I did see Hale-Bopp - it became a friend in the darkness during its visit. I live up on a hilly bit of Derbyshire, UK, with not many streetlights so as a result I'm treated to the best seats for any astronomical picture shows. Meteor showers are fun, but comets are better and Hale Bopp was a real star of the show. I can't wax poetical but at its brightest it looked like a searchlight, with it's tail lighting up a good portion of sky. Well remembered.

Thank you for remembering as well.
I took a look at your page, you are indeed well situated for a large dark sky, well done. Sorry the clouds covered the meteor shower there again, here as well. You are maybe 3400 miles northeast of here let me know if you see any asteroids heading for New England. Thanks.

Just checking up, my night sky is dark gray, have you seen Venus lately? It's right near a bright Jupiter just under the Pleides. Here in New England she's rising after midnight which is good because the sky is kind of dark.
