The Lost Cord

1 Conversation

I didn't even know I was alive until I was at least seven.
I thought I was a major appliance until I realized that I didn't have a cord. I was in search of the lost cord for at least a year before I discovered in a copy of Life magazine the reason for my belly button. Then I really knew what I was missing. I asked my mum what happened to my EVA tether, because I knew about astronauts and walking in space. My mother didn't give it a thought, she told me that it got thrown away when I was born. Then I really felt adrift.

"Oh my, it's full of stars!"
