I need tips on what to do at work to keep myself amused when I have nothing to do. (Apart from hootooing that is)
All suggestions welcome.

In the latest post, there's a link to a site with jigzaw puzzles - new puzzle each day.
And in one of the older posts, there's a link to a site with lots of funny games.

If I'm stuck on the issue desk with no students around I tend to end up wandering around the web, too. Or if there's literally nobody else around, I practice songs and dance steps, but not everyone needs to do that!

Thanks for the link T&R, the jigsaws sound amusing.
David, I do look around the web quite a bit. Looking for something to do while I'm not at the desk though. While song and dance steps sound like fun, I don't quite think that's what I'm after
We don't do issues anymore. We have self-issues machines that the borrower's can use themselves. There's a touch screen with a card reader at the side of it and an RFID pad under the desk. They tap the borrow button on the screen, swipe their card, and the RFID pad picks up on all the tags in their books and loans them to their card. (If it works all according to plan, there's always bugs in these things). We're spending a lot of time training borrowers at the moment, but soon, they'll all know how to do it and we won't be spending very much time at loans.
On second thought, perhaps the song and dance thing is not such a bad idea

You can always read shelves. Oh, right. You're ~already~ bored! Sorry.
I like to plan, in my head, of course, this massive slide that will shoot noisy children right out of the library and into a special sound-proof room.

Thanks T&R, I'll have to set up a secret little bookmark at work for these cool links.
Funny Hyp!
I like to plan at work too, but then they always go off on weird tangents. This is okay if I keep them to myself, but get some strange looks if I start sharing them with borrowers. (though that's kinda interesting in itself).
