A Conversation for The Meditation Garden

Hypatia Posted Jul 15, 2006
Hi YB. Things here in the middle of nowhere are up and down as they are everywhere. There is always a kerfuffle with one city agency or another. We are in the middle of our summer kids programs. That always takes a lot of time. And we are going to the voters next month to try and get our levy increased so I can afford to hire some more help. Keep your fingers crossed for that.
Personally, I'm ok. Beginning to feel the heat and humidity worse than I did when I was younger, but that is to be expected, I suppose.
So, what have you been up to? And I hope you can drop by more often.

You just can't avoid the occasional kerfuffle.
I am currently trying to sell my Harley and my Jeep to raise some money for some expenses and to put away in case I have a winter like the last couple. I have an old Malibu and an ancient Goldwing, so it's not like I'm going to be on foot or anything. The yogabike is currently experiencing a molecular flux but we expect it to stabilize on its own once our auras allign with the cosmos.
I am delighted to hear from you again. I rarely visit more than my ordinary conversations. This is one of my favorites.

I haven't sat in the meditation garden since July 15th. It's no wonder I'm run down. It's been busier than all get out since my class in spanish began in late August. My enthusiasm is forestalling exhaustion but I had better get used to this pace before I start wondering what in the heck I need to know how to speak Spanish for anyhow. I'm not complaining though. I AM NOT EITHER COMPLAINING! And it doesn't sound LIKE complaining neither nohow.
Maybe some tea and a good wash before homework starts.

This is a peaceful place. We should all visit more often to unwind and relax.
Hey YB. What the heck do you neeed to know how to speak Spanish for anyway?

In my long and arduous search for eternal truth I have discovered that English speakers do not know what they are talking about so I shall search elsewhere. <zen

Whenever my mind gets filled with anxiety I come here and sit.
But never for long enough.

My name is Mike... What's yours?
Just wondering.

Thanks for asking. It's surprising how comforting such a simple question can be. And thanks for telling me your name Sue, I needed to connect with a real human.
I've been through an emotional wringer lately and I can't think of anything to blame it on. Probably a mixture of work circumstances and the weather. Who knows for sure. I get this way sometimes.
I'm starting to feel better though. A little time in the garden and talking to some friendly people (yourself included) helps immensely.
There's something very healing in sharing one's difficulties with sympathetic people. It also makes one a bit vulnerable. So far the Meditation Garden has been a safe place in which to have a down day. I appreciate that.
Good luck on your trip to London. I've been reading about your plans and it sounds like a blast. I went on a long overdue vacation to Orlando about a year and a half ago. I was afraid to be too optimistic for fear of being let down. Well guess what. I had a better time than I expected! Sometimes life can be great fun.
Well, I'm feeling better now. Thanks for the friendship.

A lassie named Hyp went to London
To see every castle and dungeon
And to chat with a few
She met on hoo-too
While we Yanks feel a little abandoned
Have a nice trip says YB
Tell us of the sights that you see
Get all of your shots
Or you'll break out in spots
The minute your plane's out to sea
The gang over there sound a riot
One day when I'm rich I will try it
Maybe they will make me
A proper cup of tea
And I hear they've an interesting diet

Wonderful poem, YB.. Thanks.
I'm going to be offline all day, probably. We're having electrical storms. Better safe than sorry.
Hope to talk soon.

You are at perfect peace.
The waves are slapping against the sandy shore.
You are warm as a gentle rain begins to fall.
No worries, no pain, no concerns
Simply peaceful, quiet relaxation

I missed this when you posted it. Welcome back. It's time to clean the old place up and start using it again.
I certainly wish I had that perfect peace you refer to. I'm still searching for it.

It was nice until that biker came roaring through!
Keep looking. The seeking itself is kind of a peaceful exercise.
Every once in a while I have moments when everything is still, quiet, and just fine the way it is.
Oh what precious moments they are.
p.s. I was at the library/video rental circus free-for-all the other day. I think the local librarians have given up on saying "shhh". You wouldn't hear them anyway.I made sure to give them a friendly smile as I was checking out my movies.

I haven't been here since October, 2011.
No wonder I'm so freaked out!!!
Actually, it hasn't been so bad. Maybe that's why I haven't sought refuge here in a while.
Since then, I have stopped drinking caffeine and have begun to lose some weight!
I think the caffeine made me more anxious than I would be normally although it is hard to be sure. I could just be having a nice life these days.
I have been losing weight by limiting my calories to 2000 a day and it's working! Things like that seem way too easy when they are working and impossible when they are not.
I suppose I should come up with a poem before I go.
At times life seems so bleeding hard
Coping's about all you can do
Pain overwhelms you in great crashing waves
Or grief steals the hope out of you
But there're times in your life, for no reason at all
When life appears easy and good
You don't mind the jouney, the work or the pain
And everything seems to be as it should

The echo is not too bad here!
The garden has had visitors , more at the garden than many of other pages from years ago.
Hypatia might pop uptoo!
This thread is at the top of the list.
The "nones" are growing more rapidly in the US. (I am not referring to nones as a formal group)
Or more people are admitting it more freely. I suspect the latter.
More people in the US are saying things along the lines of -they love Jesus (or what he stands for)
BUT hate the clubwon't ever join.
Anybody notice the grief the Pope is giving the best of the Nuns(official group)in the US.
He actually said something to the effect they are too socially minded. Bah Humbug!
Somebody in the church needs to be!
If the nuns protest here, as they have in many large cities.,I will consider supporting them even though I am far from Catholic.
Something good could be happening.

Hi Abbi!
It is nice to have some company in this peaceful place.
I was leaving an over-tired poem here the other day, but I lost it all in the process of trying to add a smiley, so I just went to bed.
Sometimes one just feels like reaching out. Do you know what I mean? Especially when sleep is a bit too long overdue.

Yes Yoga Biker, I do know what you mean
I hope you get some sleep.
I'll keep a look out for your next poem.
I cringe when adding a smiley has that effect.
Especially when you need sleep as bad as a smiley..
