This is my first entry, and with help from the kind people in the GuideML clinic is now finished. I must also put on record my debt to the researcher who wrote the entry on Death in the Cathedral of Terry Pratchett, as they gave me the idea for the format

One point... as it stands the entry might be a little confusing to the uninitiated - what I'd suggest is putting a paragraph in at the beginning explaining that Angua is a character in the Discworld series of books written by Terry Pratchett... And maybe a title change to something like "Discworld Characters - Angua"

I think that you may also need to mention Terry Pratchett in the title of this. I know the Discworld characters, however others may not.

When I saw the entry title at first, I thought it was going to about a small island holiday destination!

This is a good entry, but since it is about fiction rather than fact, it will need an introduction, as others have suggested.

When Angua changes into an animal, is it a dog or a wolf? I thought it was a wolf, but you say pedigree Ramtop wolfhound. If she is a dog, then you can't use the term 'lupine'; it would be 'canine'.

Is Angua "undead"? I know that many vampires can turn themselves into wolves (for example, Dracula can do it). But that's a different thing from being a werewolf.

There are some misprints and spelling mistakes:

Vime's --> Vimes' or Vimes's
with the going market rate --> at the going market rate
Her family especially --> Her family, especially
werewolfs --> werewolves
characters, lets hope --> characters; let's hope
"sisters" --> "sisters".
Cakes's --> Cake's
sergant --> sergeant
Mopork --> Morpork (lots of places)

According to discworld books, werewolves are undead. Probably because things that would kill normal people don't kill the werewolves.

Wasn't Angua killed (temporarily) in "Men at Arms?" Did they write out a death certificate for that or knowing that she'll get back up again was it unecessary? I've never understood why Vimes objects to teetotaling vampires when he also is a teetotaler employing an Igor. I think Igors should have an article of their own in the guide as they are one of the greatest comic crations of all time!

thanks for the advice. The idea is that this entry will go in the Cathedral of Terry Pratchett which means it will be explained by its context.

Shadowbane-the watch were too busy at the end of MAA to write any death certificates, and there isn't mention of one in the text.

In discworld terms Undead covers werewolves as well as zombies etc.

As to her species-Carrot describes her as a wolfhound in MAA but the way she talks about herself and her family in Fifth Elephant implies she sees herself as part wolf. Pratchett is rather confusing in that respect

If your purpose in writing this entry was to get it into the Cathedral, then it doesn't need to go through Peer Review. Having written the entry, and told the Discworld Cathedral Clergy of the A number of the entry, I think that you've already done all that you need to do to great your entry linked to from The Cathedral of Terry Pratchett (A1079813).

Peer Review is for entries that want to join the Edited Guide (though, of course, it's the authors that do the actually wanting, but you get the idea). If you wanted this entry in the Edited Guide, then an introduction to things Discworldly would be necessary, but if you are content with the entry being part of the Cathedral, then you can remove it from Peer Review at your pleasure.

to tell you the truth, I wanted to put it in the edited guide so that I can say I've got something there-like most people. Could i perhaps add a paragraph to theis one and put a copy in the cathedral-it'd be a pity to remove it from review_I'm prod of having understood the guideML I needed to write it, after all, it's a step up from the sentance game on Ask h2g2

I think this would be good in the EG, if it has an intro putting it into the context of Pratchett/Discworld etc.

Just go to the Peer Review main page and scroll through the entries until you find yours. By clicking on the "name of entry" button you can get them ordered by name. As yours began with A it will be near the top.

If you're using brunel you'll see an X on the far right of the screen next to your entry, if you're using Alabaster or Goo you'll see the word remove.

Click on that word..
