A Conversation for Homophones and Catachreses
Defensive English

I love English, especially its ability to provide defensive mechanisms such as these words. The inventor of Esperanto was missing the point. Language is supposed to be difficult - that's what makes it fun.
For word lovers out there, check out www.wordswith.org - a truly superb site, and like the best ones, all free.
Here is my tuppence worth:
Step: to place one foot in front of the other as a means of locomotion
Steppe: one of the vast usually level and treeless tracts in southeastern Europe or Asia
ball: a round spherical object, typically for playing a game.
bawl: a noisy cry, usually made by a child
horse: an equine animal
hoarse: rough or harsh in sound, particularly the voice
That'll do!
