Another meaning for fluke I think
I think it is the pattern left in the water when a whale has come up to the surface, dived, and as it goes down thwacked the water hard, when the whale has gone there is a pattern left on the sea surface...
Also thinking about it isnt part of the whale tail called a fluke?
