I wanted to write something in microsoft word and then copy and paste it into a conversation, but the apostrophes and dashes came out all funny when I previewed, like with #s and numbers in! I'm confused! Is it just me, or does this always happen?! Is there any way I can get around this or do I just have to go through and change them all?! Help!

It's not you - it's Microsoft Word. It uses non-standard characters for various things. If you must type in Word (eg for the spell-checker) then paste into NotePad first and then re-copy from there before pasting into a post or page here.

after two years i've finally decided it's just easier to write entries in notepad to begin with - typo's be damned. someone will proofread it eventually

Okay cool. The reason I needed it actually was because I wanted to write my ACE greeting then copy and paste so I didn't have to re-write it every time, I could just change little bits to make it more personal. So yeah, I'll just do it in notepad. Thank you very very much for your help!
