A2242973 - The City Gates of London, UK.
It's about the gates in the City Wall. It's still a work in progress, although most of the work has been done. I'm hoping to find time to finish it enough for a review forum sometime next week. Then I've got to start work on a few more entries about old London.

Now all I need is a trans-Atlantic ticket, hopefully corresponding with a HooToo Meet! Until then I shall read and dream.

It's always a pleasure to watch an entry's journey from WW to the EG. Especially an entry as fine as this one.

Just to say, Mina, that I've been given your excellent entry to Sub. Interesting as I also recommended it. Anyway, it's now at A2266832. I suspect it won't need much if anything doing to it.

Thanks very much, the rumblings in the office that I've heard are that you're a very good sub!
You might be surprised how much subbing I do need - I normally miss out or repeat at least one word!

Thank, Mina - that's nice to hear!
I've done the main work on it - I found some really neat links, which I hope you approve of. I'll give it the once over again before winging it back. If you've any comment, do let me have them.

Thanks, it looks great!
Only one small point, can you take the link to the info about the gates out again? I've got my own entry on that I'd like to link to, and I don't want to encourage people to go wandering off and finding out out about them before I've got it into the Guide!
I want to write about the Fleet, but the link that you've found here won't interfere with that.

This one? http://barryoneoff.co.uk/html/the_gates.html Oh, OK - great link, though!

It is a good one, but I don't want people to pick it from this entry and read it, then not read my entry on the gates (which has way more info).

Presumably you won't want me to include this either: http://www.hillside.co.uk/arch/blackfriars.html
- another great link.

It's not one of the gates in the wall. Abi wanted to help out by writing something on Temple when I first mentioned I was going to do entries about the wall and gates, but as they weren't in the wall, they don't really fit.
Trying to find BBC links is very difficult! I had trouble with this one, and now I'm having trouble with the gates!

You're keen!
It's in WW now, and depending on what (if any) comments I get I'll probably be able to move it to PR sometime this week. I just need a couple of lunchtimes to nip out and check a couple of locations.
