A Conversation for Talking Point: How Did You Spend Christmas?

Living in a car for four days...

There is one very good reason not to date somebody (even somebody you're madly in love with) and it's call Christmas. Two family Christmases in one year is a bit much, especially when the families live so far apart.

I don't know if many people are overly familiar with Victoria, Australia... On Friday night, my boyfriend and I drove from my place in Hawthorn to my parents' place in Euroa. Approximately 2 hours. On Saturday afternoon we drove to his parents' place in Rye. That's about 4 hours. On Sunday we went back to my boyfriend's place in Seaford. An hour. Monday he had to work, and he works in Rye, so there's another 2 hours accounted for getting there and back (plus me sitting the car reading for the 5 hours he was working... I was going to shop, but it kept raining).

SO DON'T TALK TO ME ABOUT CHRISTMAS CHEER!!!! smiley - smiley

That doesn't sound bad, 9 hours in 4 days. We went to my grandparents' with my family on sunday, that's about 6 hours in one day with five people in a pretty small car (I suppose there were just the two of you in your car) and that was totally voluntary. And we like to go to Lappland for about a week on easter and that takes 13 hours there and another 13 back (or even longer if we stop for a night at my husband's relatives' place).
