A Conversation for Talking Point: How Did You Spend Christmas?

Christmas this year was dull and disappointing. Just the family - my brother and I went back to mum and dad's place in the country (Euroa, Victoria, Australia) and sat around doing nothing. I don't know what possessed my parents, but they bought us both toolkits for Christmas.

They did show some sense, though. "Hitchhiker: A Biography of Douglas Adams", and a bookshop gift voucher for $50. That forgives them the toolkit.

We got them a really funky indoor water feature. Mum bought dad a bottle opener, and by a weird coincidence my brother bought me exactly the same bottle opener.

Alltogether, a dull and disappointing Christmas. Which I already said.

Well I tell you, I wish I could have traded places with you. My whole month of December bit the big one, or as we used to it sucked dead green bunnies. I have spent most it sick, broncitis,Pneumonia, which I am still down with. And that's not even the worst my Dad passed a week before, so I had to make all the funeral arrangements, and go to a funeral. I really would be willing to tradesmiley - wah

Well that makes me feel somewhat better. At least I wasn't the only one with a disappointing Christmas. I opened presents with my siblings, their significant others and neices and nephew on Christmas Eve and I only got 3 presents, 2 of which I knew what they were gonna be. Then on Christmas Day we had Christmas with my mom's side of the family and I only got 2 things, a box of chocolates I didn't even eat, a $5 gift card, and patriotic window clings. Ok so technically that's 3 things but the box of chocolates and the gift card were together. So yah. I was slightly disappointed. But I have $55 to Hastings, so I can buy what I want. Maybe it wasn't a total loss after all.
