h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I only ask because I know that there was some glitch on the New Researchers page - I have been welcoming anyway and have managed to clear all up to "2 days ago"

I have checked all the "**" up to 5 minutes ago but there are absolutely HEAPS!! As far as I can see (and I may be wrong) people are only doing the ones with an intro (and there aren't many of those) but there are lots who have posted to hootoo who have been missed.

I can only do about 20 or so a day - though I try to do more - has everyone else given up?

I'll keep going regardless but would appreciate some help

I've done some since the glitch, but I am a little confused as to which ones we're suppose to be Welcoming now. The newbies page seemed to be working okay last time I went there (still slow to load, not missing an opportunity to say that ) maybe we need to discuss this in aceform, find out if that page is glitch free now, and whether we can go back to what we used to do before the glitch.

I've also done a few since the recent glitch and also experienced that rare ACEing phenomenon - a reply!

I know I haven't done lots and lots at a time for a while now but I do some whenever I can

I've ACE'd only rarely & only those who i grabbed via their questions on "I'm new, what do i do?" because i am utterly confused by the glitch & new rules in general.

But the ones i have ACE'd seem to be sticking here & are contributing fully to the site. So i suppose I have sort of done my bit. Ish.

i seriously wish i could help out, even if it were a part time position. but since applications aren't open, and no idea when they might be open, i can't aid in any way. none of the other jobs suite me either.

In theory, there shouldn't be too many that actually need aceing anyway.

Actually, I am ACEing anyone on the list - unless they have posted to another site.

As I said elsewhere ... I am concerned that so many will fall through the cracks otherwise and, if/when the glitch is fixed the backlog will be unmanageable.

I figure that if that's wrong the worst they can do is take away my badge - but I think it's important that new researchers get welcomed.

There is nothing to stop you from going to new researchers' pages and making them feel welcome - just wait until an ACE has visited (it s up the list otherwise).

If you see someone who has posted to h2g2 and needs a welcome drop a note on the ACEs home page and someone will get to it asap.

Remember too, that if you want to be an ACE you should know your way around pretty well, take this opportunity to get to know the place - where help can be obtained, etc.

Take it slow ... you were only ACEd yourself a few months ago and there really is much more to ACEing than just welcomes
