A Conversation for Selection Rhymes

Haven't checked the forums yet, so pardon if these have already been mentioned:

(New version)

Bubble gum, bubble gum
In a dish
How many pieces
Do you wish?

(then the count and the final line (see below))

Engine, engine number nine
Going down the 'cago line. (Only 'cago, never 'Chicago')
If the train should jump the track
Would you want your money back?

spells
And you are not the one to be it.

Often, no matter what rhyme was being used to choose, this added line was spoken at the end:

"My mother told me to pick the very best one and you are not the one to be it."

Sometimes, for a hurried game (such as the last 5 minutes of recess smiley - winkeye) we'd go for only the above, modified:

"My mother told me to pick the very best one and you are the one to be it."

Here's a slight variation I remember. Capatalized words are stressed, and the finger points to a new person.

Inka Bink a Bottle of Ink,
the Cork fell Out and You Stink.

The unfortunate soul (or fortunate, depending on what the rhyme was for) was removed, and it continued until one player remained.

Also, Eenie Meenie was a little different too.

Eenie Meenie Miney Mo,
Catch a Tiger By his Toe.
If he Hollers Let him Pay,
Fifty Dollars Every Day.
My Mother Told Me To Pick The Very Best One,
And You Are It.

Inclusion of the word "Dollars" makes this a North American variation, I guess. smiley - smiley

Whenever I used these rhymes, I was a sneaky little twerp and figured out who the rhyme would land on. For example, if there were three players and we used that version of Eenie Meenie Miney Mo, I knew it would always land on the third player. Or with Inka Bink it would land on the 2nd. So I'd start accordingly so I'd either be chosen or left out depending on what I'd rather do.
