Elbow Yangle (and the case for boys in eyeliner)

Hi there! I've been around h2g2 for about a year and a half-ish now and I would love to join the ACEs. I remember when I first joined i was really thrilled to have recieved a message from someone after such a short time, and I would like to be given the opportunity to give new members that thrill! smiley - smiley

I'm nicknamed Elbow Yangle Mk2 and I'm Researcher 182953.
I hope to hear from you soon!

Hi there Liz,

As you may or may not be aware the italics (the BBC staff) are currently spending some time in meetings, power lunching and generally having to spend time on behind the scenes work whilst there is some fine tuning of h2g2.

I hope they haven't had to do those roleplay exercises and attend meetings that involve sticking post-it notes to your forehead etc etc smiley - winkeye, i hate those kind of team building exercises!! smiley - laugh

They will be mostly offsite until the 22nd of September, when somebody should get back to you.

In the meantime i am sure anybody that you can help, or offer a welcoming message to, would appreciate it smiley - ok

Mort

Well it is one thing doing when smiley - drunk at a party and another doing in front of your boss trying to be cool smiley - winkeye

My old boss was always saying "TEAM - Together Everyone Achieves More"
Which is true but after the 3rd or 4th 'team building meeting' with a snotty nosed management rep, we just used end up in hysterics and my boss got very cross!

However, I am sure the italics aren't having quite as much fun as that!

Cheery wave back!

There is still a break from recruiting aces at the moment, but we are just 'touching base' with those that have volunteered. smiley - smiley

Did you read the info on the <./>aces</.> homepage? Are you still interested in becoming an ACE?

Basically it is welcoming new researchers to the site and offering them welcome advice, aswell as showing a good example to other researchers as an official volunteer.

What do you think means you would be a good ace?

smiley - cheers Mort

The next recruitment for aces will be advertised via the front page. So keep an eye out for it!

In the meantime if you check the <./>online</.> list and just say hello to any new users, see if they need any help etc, it will help with your application.

smiley - ok
