I *have* to have a doughnut!

I think I'm right in saying this - it's not a software problem, it's usually a hardware problem, that of connecting the tape deck to your PC. I'm fairly sure I got a circuit diagram with one of the emulators - I'll have a look when I next go home (if I remember!)
If you don't fancy making one yourself, try going to a computer fair, and asking someone running a hardware stall. They'll probably be able to point you in the right direction.

Well, I sure will be interested in finding out how to - and then, perhaps, transferring a lot of my speccy stuff onto disk.
There's never been a better computer than a ZX Spectrum. (Especially the ZX Spectrum 128)

It would be cool if you could connect them...

I've not played any 'puter games in ages...

I always preferred the BBC Model B. Much nicer keyboard Nicer version of BASIC as well, and a built-in assembler. What more could you want?
Oh, yes, I do have a BBC. Two of them. So there.

I'm sorry, but the Spectrum 128 had by far the best keyboard - only the Sinclair QL can match it's sheer aesthetic style. Okay, the BBC B was more basic-friendly. I remember them well, and how they were more easily expandable - but the Spectrum 128 was just a classy machine. By far the best of the Spectrum family.
But alas Amstrad came along and butchered the Spectrum 128 and came up with the ZX Spectrum +2, the +2A and the two versions of the +3. But the Spectrum 128 - that's sheer perfection.
And I've owned about 8 Spectrums.

I was fortunate enough to have a Spectrum +3, which came with a built in 3" disk drive (the same drive found in the old Amstrad PCW's).
The only trouble was, all the games I have for it are on tape, so I still had to hook up a tape deck to it.

I'll have the largest doughnut in the house! I have a lecture in 15 minutes, so I need energy!

What am I doing in uni on my day off? Assignments unfortunately.

Ther only problem is that I've groung to a halt. I need to embed SQL into a C program, but I've never programmed in C. you would think they would have taught us that instead of java last year.

Bluebottle - to return to your Spectrum software / hardware problem - I have about 700 'snaps' ( full games) on my drive, if you want me to send them ?

Bluebottle Posted Oct 20, 2000
700?! Wow!
I'll definately want copies, the trouble is at the moment with my rather limited home PC... Hang on, I'll have to think of the best way to get a copy over - but thanks!

Bluebottle, the directory size is approx. 35M, but includes the cct diagram described above. I'll be off for about 5 hours now, so let me know if you come up with a means of transfer

I have a lovely piece of coursework to do on Information Theory and English Grammar. Now try and work out how they fit together.
