Hi All,
I like the Cynicism discussion. I agree that it is important to be realist. But it is not good to be pessimist. Pessimist is not happy because in any situation he can see that it can just become worst. The best is to be realist, try to plan for both the worth situation and the good ones.

Realism

But everyone thinks they're a realist, especially Idealists. And I NEVER promote being Pessimistic about the present, just about the future. Pessimism groups two concepts in one and I divide them. I promote expecting the worst and demote seeing the worst. It is not true that it is "not good" to be a pessimist and that pessimists are "not happy" - they're just not blindly idealistic like you. A realist does not plan for the best situation - that's just plain stupid. You don't plan for both. If you expect the worst then you're ready for any outcome. If the absolute worst does not occur then it is a reward. If the worst does prevail then, well, what did you expect?
