I never really understood the poinnt in this. How do bras represent the trouble women have getting rights. Does setting fire to your underwear really liberate you. Some women flaunt their bras now, and can be seen as a thing of power rather than a shackle.

The 'point' of this action lies in an ostensible rejection by women of the constraints places upon the female shape by patriarchy. The bra is a means by which the reality of women's bodies are controlled, the breast is held in place and often shaped and squeezed into a shape considered desirable (desirable by whom?).
The really interesting point about the claims of feminism and bra burning is how upset people, presumably male, get about this fairly innocuous action. I doubt that the even the most strident feminist would claim that burning her bra was the sole aim and conclusion of her political aspirations. But now, nearly thirty years after the emergence of modern feminism, the politically active woman is still ridiculed as a "bra burning feminist" : a testament to the pathetic anxieties of late 20th century partiarchy. Laugh if you must, but the future has always been, and will always be female.

Funny thing about all this is that these women forgot who invented the original Bra.
That's right, it was a woman
She formed it out of 2 white handkerchiefs, I think both for support and to cover up a
somewhat transparant blouse. I read the story long time ago in the book
"Extraordinary Orgins to Everyday Things". Look it up. Interesting reading.

i think that you have got a pretty interesting point there. Since bras very often are made out of cotton the whole
ting is quite logical, but hear this, what if someone made a bra out of some fire proof material, wouldent that be
i mean what a wate of resources,
