We also advise if an entry will be suitable for the Guide.
My suggestion will be for you to click on the highlighted PeerReview, scroll down until you see the X alongside your article, click on the X and it will be returned to your Personal Space, where you can work on it at your leisure.
Then you can decide where you wish to enter it, the <./>UnderGuide</.> or <./>ThePost</.>

I think I'll leave it there and work on it in the time allowed, if it's not in the way, or anything...

if you remove the entry, then resubmit it when you think it is actually ready, it is likely to get a better recpetion, have more people lookign at it, than an entry that stagnates at the bottom of PR

I've still not been told what's wrong with it as it stands.

It's an opinion piece.
The material is simply you telling us what you think, rather than any established fact.
If you had, as you had been asked to do, read the <./>Writing-
Guidelines</.> then there would have been no need for anyone here to tell you this.

Done that.
It says
* Write about reality
* Be original
* Fill in the gaps
* Plan your entry
* Write about what you're interested in
* Research your entry thoroughly
* Be instructive, informative and factual
* Write in your own style rather than that of Douglas Adams
* Try to make your entry balanced
* Don't try too hard to be funny
* Write Entries of appropriate length
* Write about subjects that can be verified
* Avoid writing in the first person
* Try to use good spelling and grammar
* Do not copy wholesale from other sources
And gives as an example of research a piece on The Simpsons which even a cursory glance reveals several glaring errors.
"Homer is always fighting to keep his weight down," - wrong
"redefined the term 'cartoon'" - how?
"saxaphone" - 'o' phone
"Bart's 'Aye carumba!" Never heard of it.
etc etc.

Try reading down past this bit:
"h2g2 is a great place to get things off your chest, but for the Edited Guide we're looking for balanced entries rather than subjective rants. We're looking for entries that show both sides of the argument, especially on potentially contentious topics. (However, if you do have an entry of strongly expressed opinion, please submit it to the Speaker's Corner.) "

I think "write about subjects that can be verified" also comes into play here. You'd have to do an 'eck of a lotta research to verify a few of your claims.
Let's put it this way: PR is a public forum for entries being polished for the Guide. Nothing personal is supposed to be in. As it now stands, this entry is not for the Guide and looks like a personal exposition on a topic.
If you are fixing it up for inclusion in the Guide, then nobody will object to your keeping it in Peer Review.
If you do not intend to change it - and evidence points this way - then you are being politely requested to remove it to your Personal Space, a location more suited to it.
Can we all be civil about this?

points out that both me and FM are on the thread, so who knows!

Ah, well in that case - how about finishing up some your *own* entries that have been slushing about the bottom of PR for well over two months, Jon?

not my fault that the UCI is a bunch of clowns and can'tmake a simple ruling without delaying it for 8 months!!!

Er...
excuse me.
This is about me, thank you very much.
Now I will look at the submission when I get a chance, and I might even move it.
But not at anyone's sayso, and not as much of what is recommended as the epitomy of 'suitability' is riddled with holes.
Patience is a virtue.

Fair enough. Let's just sit back and wait and see what happens, shall we?

*drags in a box of chocolate and many many textbooks*
Don't mind me, then.
(Though, quite honestly, fellow scouts, if you want to knock the entry out of PR all we need to do is stop posting...)

Nice to see you still get enough control to get some fun.
Important to keep busy, I always say.
