The h2g2 Poem

1 Conversation

A poem I wrote while sitting in the V&A1 during a visit to the capital.

The End of Civilisation: Part 4

China chinks on china.

We sit in a specially - designed space

Designed to subsidise

Through cappuccino and carrot cake

The Canalettos next door.

We eat, we drink, we talk

In subdued tones

Beneath reproductions

(A4 size)

Of works by artists who died

In debt.
