We first encounter Quoth the raven in Mort when he was part of the wizardly clutter of C.V. Cheesewaller. In his youth he spent some time hanging round the Tower of Art as one of the ubiquitous UU Ravens. The magical radiation which he was exposed to made him rather more intelligent than the average raven, hence his ability to talk in complete sentances.

Quoth has since hooked up with The Death of Rats. He provides transport, translations and general cronying. He likes to hang around battles and is passionate about eyeballs or indeed anything remotely eyeballesque. He doesn't do the N word.
