Yah-- Tony is the man-- but what about his more recent works? There's Bruford Levin Upper Extremeties, Liquid Tension Experiment (with the guys from Dream Theater)... He's been recording since like 71, and he's probably the most consistently booked bassist on the face of the earth. As far as the music industry is concerned, if you can afford him, get him-- if you can't afford him, get someone who sounds like him!
He also wrote a book, Beyond The Bass Clef: The Live and Art of Bass Playing, and he is a wonderful artist and songwriter as well-- check out Tony Levin's solo CD, Waters of Eden.
He's the MAN!
