its a nice company to work for and i feel lucky compared to some of my friends jobs. still dont want to be stuck in Woking on a saturday morning sorting out bits of carbon, rather be in bed.

i work for Mclaren cars on the SLR program. im deilng with all the aftersales logistics issues. basicly when someone really rich parks there car ino a tree or a poor person. we sell them really expensive spare parts. not as glam as the race team but then those guys have no life outside work and are a bit weird as well.

yeah its a good atmosphear, and everyones has fun. it has changed over the last few years from when we did the F1 which was more like a big club. racing GT and Le Mans and stuff. its like the comapny decided to settle down and get a proper job now.

where abouts did your ex work in stuttgart? i went over there last year and its literally a city built on Daimler Chrysler they have there own terminal at the airport and every family has somone who works for them in someway.

I don't know where his brother worked, I think my ex won't work for them on principle. Everything in Germany is built around Daimler, I went on a tour of Berlin a few years ago and the tour guide was very scathing about them, it seems they've poured a lot of money into Potsdammerplatz, which is the bit that was between the walls, she said that locally it was known as DaimlerPlatz or something like it because they owned 90% of the buildings there. We noticed that EVERY taxi in Germany is a Mercedes, I'd say Daimler Mercesdes is the mainstay of the German economy

If the motor industry collapsed, Germany's economy would be in ruins

Imagine what it's like in Germany, their unemployment figures are something like ours were in the early 80's
