This isn't really a useless error message, but an indication of the fact that people who write Mac software have a better sense of humour than people who write PC software. Also, I've never encountered this message, so this counts as hearsay, but anyway ...
Apparently there was a certain C compiler for the Apple Mac that would, on occasion, tell you which sections of the ANSI C standard your code had contravened. It would end the message 'I know you don't want to know all this. I'm just doing it to annoy you!'
At last! A computer that admits it's trying to piss us off!
