A Conversation for Gun Control in the US

Zach's Opinion

Notice I have placed my opinion here in the forums. I'm aware that my opinion has probably influenced the actual dialogue of the guide entry itself, but I tried sincerely to show both sides of the issue. I'm aware that future revisions may need to further edit out my opinion, in order to make this entry fair to both sides of the issue.

I am not a member of the NRA nor do I plan to be one. I also am not an active anti-gun lobbyist.

Personally, I do not own a gun, I don't want to know how to use one, I think their presence in a room increases the potential for danger in any situation regardless of an individual's knowledge of their use, and I would like to see every single gun disappear tomorrow. However, I know that's not going to happen, so eternal vigilance must devise compromises for both extremes of the issue to live in tolerant harmony.

I'm a Constitutionalist and an American. I believe in the second ammendment as strongly as I do any other. So for me, guns are basically a necessary evil I try to keep out of my life as much as possible. I do not feel ill will towards those who own or use handguns, but when possible I prefer not being around them when they actually have one in their possession. I have been known to consciously and purposefully leave a room when a gun is revealed.

If I'm out of the gun's range, accidents can't happen to me.

Please feel free to share your opinions below, or elsewhere in these forums. If you respect my opinions, I will respect yours.

Well just be sure to remember ''Guns don't kill people; people kill people.''

So maaaybe we should just outlaw people? Yeah, that'll fix it..
