Signs wasn't just bad science fiction; it was a bad movie all around. If there was a single cliche he missed, I can't think of one.

I never understood what those water hating aliens wanted on Earth of all wet places in the universe, to begin with. Or, indeed, why they did not start blistering up as soon as they got out of their space ships and got in contact with our atmosphere (which almost everywhere contains water, except maybe in the polar regions)?
