I'm a little confused as to how I can actually join the SETI@home project. Also, having only skimmed the article, I don't understand if a satellite is needed. Is a satellite necessary? That would be just a bit expensive, heh. 
Second, how often would my computer need to be on? I can't leave my computer on 24/7... If anyone can answer this question, that would be appreciated.
