*kitty continues along the path of stones, padding lightly from one to the next, pausing every so often for Menza to catch up*

[The swamp water gloops and bubbles, releasing little pockets of murky steam which rise and hover, giving the effect of a general miasma.... occasionally Menza can see roots poking up out of the swamp and down again... trees leaning sideways with sheets of thin sticky fronds hanging down....

[Menza catches a glimpse of something swimming past them... keeping time? following them?]

*sees something moving in the water*

*hurries to catch up with Kitty*

[there is a small patch of land with a single tree standing lopsidedly on it, kitty and menza stop there to rest for a while]

*finds big stick that has broken off the tree and close by while they have a rest*

*as Menza dozes, Kitty removes the stick and lets it slip in and under the murky swamp water*

*Kitty turns to the bowl of ashes, carefully placed in the tree's shade*

*Kitty decides it is time to move on*

*he wakes menza with a loud purr*

*snore*

*rolls over*

*starts off a roar, to get through to the sleeping sausage*

What, Eh, Pardon. I wasn't sleeping, I was just resting my eyes.

~~the whisp is again amused by the human, and comforted by the concern expressed by kitty.... stirs from the ashes and wafts over to kitty~~

~v~... am fine...solid water is difficult... must try harder to stay whole... but water in air is not hard... just slower...~v~

~~the whisp works into the human's shoes and tickles its feet...~~

*Kitty waits till Menza and the Whisp are ready and then starts off over the stepping stones again.*

~~...the whisp returns to the ashes, peeking out slightly to taste the journey~~

*rubs his feet till they stop tingling*

That wasn't a nice thing to do.

*kitty is nearly out of sight, Menza needs to hurry to catch up*

*Runs after the others*

Oi, wait up.

*Kitty, just to be a pedant, watches Menza running to catch up with himself and the Whisp... which is quite funny as Menza is carrying the Whisp in the basket...*

*wonders why Kitty is staring at him with what can only be called a smurk*
