Is it possible to play music on my home page, ( ie a *.Wav or something.). If you can what is the required GuideML code? Is it a nightmare loading thing that should be avoided?

Hi
Yes it is possible to play music on your page - though you can't do it with GuideML you'll have to use HTML.
On the 'nightmare loading' - wav files can be pretty ugly, though it depends entirley on the file size - big files are slow & small files are fast(er). Midi files tend to be small, fast and let you have a reasonable length of music on your page.
Do you want to have a clickable link to a music file or something that plays automatically when someone arrives at your page? Let me know & I'll tell you the appropriate code.
If you want something that plays automatically you'll need to keep the music file size to a minimum - nothing will keep people away from your page like really long load times.

BTW I forgot to mention - if you want an idea on how long midi files take to load go to my homepage & either click on the dancing baby or select something from the pulldown midi list.

It was something to play automatically I was thinking about. Althpough HTML is a bit daunting for me. (I've only just progressed to GuideML.). If I change my page to HTML will the GuideML code still work for the colour changing links etc? or will I have to alter them too?
Maybe I should just forget it.

You can mix GuideML & HTML when the page type is set to GuideML
In fact the changing link colour code isn't GuideML it's JavaScript & HTML will work just fine on your page as well
Tp get music to play automatically from your page the sound file (.imid, .wav etc) needs to be somewhere on the WWW & you'll need to include the URL for the file in your page.
Here's the code for a midi file I have stored on another site, just substitute the URL for your file. You can put the code anywhere between the & tags on your page.
You'll need to include the URL twice - this is so that the file will play no matter what browser the user has.
hope it helps
