Oh yes, Life. I suspect that a polyglot h2g2 is doomed to failure - largely for the reasons you intimate above. However, the fact that the www is almost entirely in english and has a predominantly anglo user base means that any use of foreign languages is going to be, at best, a minority occupation, and at worst an excuse to set up a parallel site, as you have indicated. I could repeat all that in french, german or italian, as I happen to speak them too, but how many other users do? A sad situation, but, I fear, inevitable.
