Actually I guess this applies to most operators who work in large sheds of tele-help services. Everytime you phone up you speak to someone new. If you need to speak to the operator you spoke to 5 minutes ago, it's simply impossible. Anyone you speak to has no powers to actually do anything.

Always ask to talk to their supevisor-thats the only way to get anything taken care of properly.

I did try that once - it was quite late in the evening though and they denied all knowledge of supervisors. I resorted to writing a stern letter, and have yet to hear anything back from them. (but still have a telephone connection, )

For some reason unknown to myself-I'm pegged as having an attitude.Perhaps, its because I dont accept what those service reps. tell me as THE FINAL WORD.Whenever I say - I dont follow the logic here or something to that effect-I'm instantly pegged 'troublemaker'.

Perhaps you should just tell them they're dumb.

I doubt that your phone would be cut off, unless the consumer rules that apply where you are happen to be different than where I am.Here, the customer is always right and it is the duty of the customer service representatives to be attacked by the customer and continue to be polite and deferent. Of course, within an hour that rule could change and the new motto could become " screw the customer."

I think they might be working to a variant of the 'screw the customer' ethos at the moment.
As you say, they are very polite, but not actually any help. And as they can rarely sort anything out during your call to them, they will promise to work on it and get back to you. Then with a cheery goodbye and thank you for calling, they hang up ..
and promptly forget all about you and your telecommunication problems - hey presto - one screwed customer (and you are left with the wholly inaccurate belief that something may actually get done about it). Clever and very devious.
