Smudger,
I do enjoy your Snippets. You have led such an interesting life. Thank you for sharing them with us. It gives me a nice feeling to know that you were well treated and enjoyed your time on Britannia.
It really upset me when the Queen was forced to give up the yacht. I never considered it a luxury, but an ocean going ambassador for the UK. I know the Duke of Edinburgh used to host meetings and receptions on board for his charity staff and influential contacts in various places round the world. I thought it was making good use of the yacht.
I would love to go and see it but I don't suppose I ever will,
Thanks again,
Websailor

Hi WS, A lot of folk said it was a waste of money, but like you said, if they had seen it doing its bit for British industry when holding banquets and meetings with top brass from all foreign countries, they would soon have a different opinion
You could easily go and see it, its easy to reach by train and taxi, and is all equipped for wheel chair access. If you ask them, they will even get a staff memeber to help you out, (just say Smudger said so)
