Yes, I know it's sad, but about mid 1999, I was sending out about 150 messages a day, and received at least 300. This was sustained for well over 6 months!
To make the whole process of sending SMS easier while at work, it is necessary to connect your mobile phone up to a computer, and use the computer keyboard to compose and send the messages.
This has the added benefit of fooling your boss into thinking you are feverishly working away, while in actual fact you are making small talk with a similarly bored person at the other end of the country.
