In one of my journals we had a llama called Muffin, I always wondered about this weird choice of name. Now I finally get the reference smiley - eureka
The puppets remind me of those from the 'Augsburger Puppenkiste' http://www.augsburger-puppenkiste.de/01-theater/02-stars/01-urmelundco/index.shtml

Gosh we've taken Lil back to her first childhood.

I'm reduced to really crumby nit-picking - "Though regular UK television transmissions didn't commence until 1936 - and even then only in the London region - a few experimental broadcasts were made for some years before."

I think this sentence should start with Although, and with had been made for some years previously.

smiley - ok

Isn't that illegal ?

Yep, and as this isn't formal English - and it's a pretty common form nowadays - I chose to ignore it. smiley - biggrin

(Ah, go on, I'll change it.)

Many of the things my English teacher taught me stayed with me. The meaning of the word 'disinterested', for one (I've hardly ever seen it used correctly - people do insist on mistaking it as interchangable for 'uninterested'). Grrr.

You could be angry, or you could just be underwhelmed. I love that word.

I've added a few more details, corrected a couple of errors about dates and added a few links - including one to the stupendous Whirligig archive site.

Good entry!

I've never seen Muffin, but I saw the model of him that the old guy acted by David Jason made of him on 'Porridge'.
