you asked me to post so here goes......don't say i didn't warn you
the postcards one hit home with me as my grandmother is a postcard addict!!! no matter where she goes postcards are sure to be sent...all of them saying absolutily nothing of importance on the back and the picture is of something i have never seen before nor care to see again.....she feels that it is neccessary to send these things to me for some reason, i have a collection a mile deep....now my other grandmother is a bit better, she is an artist like myself and sketches on blank postcards that she sends to us, these i treasure more as they are of things that are as she sees them

That's lovely and for once, I'm not being sarcastic at all. Unfortunately, I can't empathise with you as I am sans grandmothers

it is quite lovely actually makes it a bit more personal for me and less like a have to situation if you know what i mean (like something she wanted to do and not something she had to do

it is that but as i sit here typing this i have found yet another of those useless postcards that are just picked off of a shelf and mailed awaiting me....my dear grandmother (the one who does not make her own) is on yet another holiday and once again is sending me pictures of heaven knows what from heaven knows where to make me feel a part of it with her....guess it will join the others in the shoe box at the top of my closet.....i don't know, maybe one day i will wallpaper the basement bedroom with them just for laughs

I hat those 'saucy' postcards that you get from Blackpool and various tasteless bits of Spain, which have had all the charm and class surgically removed. It irritates me.

it does do that....i think that they should concentrate on postcard burnings instead of book burnings, get rid of all the corney, obnoxious, lame and downright tacky postcards sitting on the shelves waiting for someone with nothing better to do than clutter our mailboxes with them........

Hehe not a bad idea. We could have burning effigies of everything tasteless and tacky from all walks of life... Steps, S Club 7, Sony Playstations, the New Blue Peter, Smash Hits magazine...
