Orgone Accumulator

The "Orgone Accumulator" was one of his surviving devices - a box made of alternating layers of organic and inorganic material (usually brown paper and bacofoil!) inside which he claimed the rules of physics became subtly altered. Food would go off less quickly, blunt razor blades would resharpen by edge crystallisation (in the same manner as with those cardboard pyramids so popular in the late 1970s) and if you built one big enough to have sex in it would reflect all your "orgasmic energy" back on you, making you a better person... smiley - bigeyes

btw, Hawkwind wrote a song about them.. "I have an Orgone Accumulator, and it makes me feel greater..."

Me thinks Woody Allen was inspired by Wilhelm Reich, Hawkwind and Motorhead when coming up with the orgasmotron in "The sleeper" (I think that was what it was called). I had for many years no idea what an Orgone Accumalator was, apart from an amazing track on Space Ritual, with Lemmy's bass cranked right up, until I saw a prog on UKs Channel 4 about Wilhelm Reich and his bizare theories.

Still think the track was better than the theory smiley - smiley
