A Conversation for Tao Te Ching
Taoism

Hi there.
Nice introduction, but some fleshing out on what the book actually says might be nice. If I could also point out that there *is* a Taoist religion, although it can be percieved as completely seperate from the philosophy, in a similar way to basic christian values and attitudes being different from actually believing in God.
I'd also add a recomendation for Jonathan Star's "Definitve Tao Te Ching". Although the title is something of an oxymoron, it is without a doubt the lovliest translation I've come across.
The book also features a fascinating discussion of verse 1, as well as a verbatim translation from the Chinese text, featuring each character and all it's normally accepted interpretations. This allows the reader to effectively interpret the original text for themselves (or at least as close as one can get without actually learning ancient Chinese!)
Cheers
