Just wondering whether there are restrictions on suggesting photographs of exhibits in museums etc. which allow the taking of photographs?

I thought that the the copying of and publicatiation of an immage infringed some sort of copyright law.

As a museum employee, I can confirm that images of exhibits etc. that have been taken with permission can only be used for private usage (in the same manner that you can only really watch a DVD privately), unless express permission has been obtained for commercial usage.
