A fruit, if you look it up in a dictionary, is the edible part of the plant that holds the seeds, and, last time I checked, tomatoes have got seeds in them, and, if I remember rightly, I ate one once, and I had no ill-effects. Snakebite.

I ate one for lunch today....and felt absolutely magnificent afterwards!!!:_)
