Just joined h2g2 yesterday. I think I'll enjoy stumbling around for a while, bumping into interesting bits'n'pieces - like your entry about the beach walk at Clifton. My partner and I were staying at the Clifton Domain 2 weekends ago, as we do at times when we want to get away from Palmy and our two maturing sons (who find it cheaper to study from home).
So, when we need space, we prowl the beach at Clifton, have lunch at Ujazi, get an icecream at Cool Cats and ... walk on the beach again.

I look forward to reading some of your stuff when you settle in ... an article about Palmy could be a good place to start... 
Personally, I prefer the icecreams at Rush Munro Ice Cream Garden
