NTT - Witness the resurrection

Nonny I've still no idea about any of yours.
Peg, would that be Bread by any chance then?
Here's a couple of ones from different eras from me.
"Us and them and after all we're only ordinary men"
and
"I sing myself to sleep, a song from the darkest hour"

Ooh... ooh... I know that second one Phil... if I can just retrieve it from the recesses of my mind.
And I heard this on R2 today, and was so amazed to hear it, thought it would be a good contender here:
#I want you here to have and hold
As the years go by and we grow old and grey#
Now, I'm off to sleep on those other ones...

And more from the second one...
"Secrets I can keep inside of the day"

*recesses of the mind refuse to budge yet*
Will kick myself eventually. Some more of mine...
#I thought I'd make it
The day you went away
But I can't take it
'Til you come home again to stay#

::sings:: But all I've got is a photograph...
RINGO!!! "Photograph"!!!
From 1970, written with help from John Lennon, I believe... well... either written by the late great JL, or with HELP! from him... and I still say it's early 1970...
I love RINGO... I saw him in concert late last June... and he sang "Photograph"... just for me...

If. Sheet music in the box (somewhere).
"If a picture paints
A thousand words then
Why can't I paint you?
The words will never show
The you I've come to know."

Titania has noticed the great need for a Music Note Smiley on h2g2... If you feel the same way(this being a most musical forum), then... please visit and post your viewpoint here: http://www.h2g2.com/F20473?thread=87767 As far as playing this game with you, I don't know if I'm truly able to do myself any justice, but I do adore watching the play unfold... :-)

Got it in one Dragonfly.
I was so surprised to hear it on Radio 2 the other day, that I felt it deserved a place in the NTT hall of fame. Made me want to put the album on again...
I didn't know Ringo still toured. Learn something new everyday. Where was that then?
Okay, what tunes are still outstanding? I'll just throw another 'style' into the pot:
#Yet if he said he loved me
I'd be lost I'd be frightened#
Kinda 'current' too I guess.

I called it in for the Classic Rock Request Hour, as I haven't heard it in ages (and that was the only lyric I could clearly remember -- or at least the only one that would make sense.. "shine on me" is too common. ) but, alas, they didn't get it squeezed in.
