A Conversation for Name That Tune (deceased)
NTT - Witness the resurrection
Phil Started conversation Oct 23, 2000
An all new forum to continue the lyrical mayhem that was started in Name That Tune and was most recently spotted under the guise of NTT 2000. Beware this might not change your life.
Introductions over with, here's your starter for ten:
"If you're fond of sand dunes and salty air"

I dunno.. sounds BeachBoyish. *ducks and runs*
As promised, a resurection:
Com una guitarra en la noche
***
... a punch in the nose and it's starting to flow and I
might be
sinking
***
I hope he's not like me
I hope he understands
That he can take this life
And hold it in both hands.

*blank expression*
Seeing as he was on R2 earlier...
'The beauty of this emerald isle
Set in a saphire sea'
*grins maliciously*

......quaint little villages here and there..I always wanted to hear a bit more of the sample song..wasn't it Terry Jacks of Seasons in the sun fame who did the original? (or is that what you are referring to?) can't remember name of band who had the recent version......

Um... no!
We had joy, we had fun,
We had seasons in the sun
But the rhyme and the song
Is completely wrong.

um that was a reply to phils Q about sand dunes at top but must have pressed the wrong button (story of my life) so it didn't come out as reply to right Q. But hey its not the beachboys...is it????

Phil Posted Oct 29, 2000
Waxer you are correct in saying that it wasn't the Beach Boys.
You are also correct with the next line.
Where it all starts to fall appart is your choice of singer that it wasn't. It wasn't a Terry Jacks tune.
The original can currently be found on a double CD called Sampled...

The lyric is by Groove Armada
Follow up single, I think, was "I see you standing there(shakin' that ass)"

Phil Posted Nov 4, 2000
It was Groove Armada who sampled my lyric, yes. And the GA song it was on was?

Babel17 Posted Nov 4, 2000
Was it 'At the River' from '99 album 'Vertigo'?
NTT - Witness the resurrection
Phil Posted Nov 4, 2000
Correct Babel17.
Easy one...
"I've fallen in love for the first time and this time I know it's for real"

Might help if you actually give the answer, rather than just intimate that you know it - Fermat did that you know
Anyway yours is Meatloaf, Rock and Roll Dreams Come True.

#It's strange but it's tru-ue
I can't get over the way you love me like you do...#
I want to break free.
Try this then (thought this a terribly romantic line):
#If a man could be in two places at one time
I'd be with you, tomorrow and today
Beside you all the way#
Very large lyrical clue, but it takes the whole line(s).

But what is it actually called, and who's it by.
#Run my name through your computer
Mention me in passing to your college tutor#
