Who's Professor Norbert Lynton

Will someone put me out of my misery and tell me who Professor Norbert Lynton is? I know he is connected with the RCA (Royal College of Art). However, that is about all I know.
Oh and what is an F pencil?

Never heard of the good Professor, sorry. On the pencil thing, I know about the Hardness/Blackness measurement for pencils. Your average run-of-the-mill pencil is an HB, meaning it is in the middle of the spectrum. You can then move to H1, H2, B1, B2 etc. The harder a pencil is, the lighter the colour it draws. Dunno if this helps or not. In my experience, an F pencil is one you've just lost, as in

According to http://www.pencilpages.com/articles/grades.htm (no, really) an F is halfway between an HB and an H.
