History Pedant Coming Through!

Wolfman, Zaphodista :X (soon to be Zarquon again, or maybe not)

I hate to correct people, (disengage lie mode) but as a history buff and a morally-driven vegetarian, I can't help myself this time. The whole Hitler-vegetarian deal was all a propaganda scam by Dr. Gobbels. Gobbels wanted to make Hitler look like a German Ghandi so the people would adore him as a saintly figure. Even at public occasions, der fuhrer was known to hide ground meat under a blanket of thick sauce. Sorry, but I had to say that.

I Am Iron Man

I heard he was only a vegetarian on Tuesdays, or something strange like that.

I'd like to know your sources for this information. I find it hardly conceivable that a guy who was ranting sheer hatred of jews, gypsies, communists (not that that's a *bad* thing *snicker snicker*), homosexuals, etc. would consider that not eating meat would make him a "ghandi-like" figure, especially when you consider the extreme social-darwinism that was at the core of National Socialisim.

I've read several bio's of Hitler, among them William Shirer's, and *all* of them noted his vegitarianism in passing.

Many hard-line vegans, like the furher of "PETA" have a rather callous attitude towards *human* life. The "PETA" lady was quoted as saying how nice it would be if someone blew up all those fast-food joints and meat-processing plants.

As for myself, if you don't mind a bit of Nina Hagen parody:

"I like my steak, and my beef stew!
If you get in my way, well I might EAT YOU!"
