I didn't know anything about html before I started here at h2g2....
But another great thing about it here is that everyone is willing to help!
If you see something on somebody's page, ask how they did it and they'll usually help out. Also, I someone sees eomethign on one of your pages that could be improved, they usually offer help/advice to fix it up.

Couldn't find one choice that completely nswered the qyestion for me. (I have a problem with simple answers!)
