In line with my general theory that the Edited guide is becoming very stuffy, I'd like to nominate this little classic. OK...it may be mildly humourous and derivative of Douglas Adams, but it still should merit a place among all the 'who-wants-to-read-this?', because I suspect somebody actually might.

Can you please invent a meaning for Burlington?
I noticed this little "glitch"...
so there are a lot of awful names IF places you will never need to go to.
AWu.
P.S. Edited Guide Material? I'm not sure, but I enjoyed it.

If this... A649749... nonsense can make the Edited Guide, I'm SURE this should. It's very good indeed.
I'd like to see a word for the slight draught you experience when taking the bin out on a Friday morning which tells you shouldn't go down the drive in pyjama trousers... Penisarwaen.
Get it in!

But it's not nonsense though, is it? Don't tell me you've never experienced any of it.
As for whether it's Edited material - well possibly not. My decision to nominate it was one of those 6pm decisions where I'd just read through some really boring crap (will h2g2 let me have 'crap'?) on microscopy and thought everyone else would need cheering up.

Thanks for your interest in our Liff article. Glad you enjoyed it.
However, please note that h2g2 have still got the credits completely wrong!!!! It says ...
Written and Researched by: wingpig. Edited by: JDR
Actually, the Liff definitions were written by Wingpig and myself (about half of the definitions are mine, half his). It was Edited by NEITHER of us, but by some guide editor, who also wrote the introductory part of the article. (The article did in fact used to be in the official list, but it was removed when they decided the guide should be more factual).
I've complained about this (and previous errors ... they had our article credited to "Douglas Adams" at one point!) but nothing gets done. I mean, it's not much to ask, just to get a few names right.
I did write a lot more Liff material on my own pages, but I've since removed it to sort it all out, alphabetise it and submit elsewhere.
I would have removed the main Liff article as well, but I don't have the right to do so, since part of it is Wingpig's.
Key: Complain about this post
