Interesting to see frowsty there, but I thought it meant something different. My mother used to use this word to describe our dog when she came in from being out in the rain and sat gazing at you with a feeling-sorry-for-myself expression and wet, scruffy, bedraggled fur on her face. She looked frowsty.
My mum might well have made this word up, (or maybe if she had written it down it would be frousty?) but I like it anyway.
