I've always liked the word plosive, referring to the pronounciation of letters like "p", "f" and "b". Its really descriptive and sounds like what it describes (unlike phonetic).

sorta like how "ONOMATOPEIA" sounds nothing like an extreme case of releasing Urine?
Sesquipedalian ?
Uncle Ghengis Posted Aug 4, 2000
I contend that the meaning of "Sesquipedalian" *should* be... "One-and-a-half-feet" (not merely polysyllabic as given in the WOTD guide entry.) - This would normally refer to metrical feet in the poetic sense. - But it can also mean "One-and-a-half-feet" in other senses too. This can lead to many more interesting uses for this wonderful word (it is one of my favourites.)
Eg:
"Look at the size of those things ! - they must be truly sesquipedalian ! (18-inches = 1+1/2 feet)"
(In other word's you can use this word when you would normally say -
"it was about yay big" (holding your hands about 18inches apart)
or even...
"Look at that Sesquipedalian guy - I wonder what happened to the rest of his foot ?"
Share and enjoy !

Lacuna - a blank space, missing item, gap or small cavity.
This word is a marvellous shorthand for aching absence.
