A Conversation for Dwarf Planets

I think somebody got a bit hasty in picking this. Some things that need consideration
1. while I appreciate the link to my article on Ceres the A number on the edited article will not be the same as the one they linked to.
2. Xena does not have the number usb313 it is 2003 UB313
3. I am fairly certain neither Vesta nor Pallas has hydrostatic equilibrium and thus cannot be candidates for the category dwarf planet.

Thanks for pointing out the mistake on Xena's number. I fixed that. Sorry if I'm not supposed to post here.

This thread is not closed. I am not an official with h2g2.
I posted here because this article had already left peer review before I spotted it.

Hi Ws, I'm subbing your entry at A14196549

Should be finished soon, if you have any major objections, please let me know. If not, I'll give it back to the eds at some point tomorrow, I guess ( or even later tonight).

Thanks for pointing that bit out, Shagbark. I* made the correction. You've contributed enough to this that I'm adding you as an editor to this article.

I started this thread because I wanted to help the editor get it right not because I wanted to be an editor. But I will gladly acdept being credited as a researcher.
One other matter I thought I'd raise was pictures.
Someone once said that a picture speaks a thousand words.
One of the best pictures I put in my Ceres article is a composite image
http://www.spacetelescope.org/images/large/opo0527b.jpg
In it you see the three new categories of objects
Mars is clearly a planet.
Ceres-looking like a pearl-is a dwarf Planet
Then you have the other representative asteroids which fall into the third category because they lack the gravitation to pull themselves into shape like Ceres, Pluto, and Eris did.
Somewhere there was an estimate of what the lower limit on mass for a
Dwarf Planet is; but I don't know where that went. It's probably in some IAU webpage somewhere.

Hi shagbark, I've added you as an researcher like requested by wandering shadow. The entry is here A14196549 .
I'll have a look, if I can't integrate the link in the text, I'll put it between the reference tags at the end. smiley - cheers Bel
Oh, and I intend to return it tomorrow, so every change that comes later than today will have to be posted to the EF forum then. smiley - ok

I'm done with my suggestions.
I think this will be a good addition to the EG

To be honest, after having read this entry and all the discussions, I can't help wondering how long it will take before the entry needs an update smiley - rofl
Haven't read yours, but hope the PR will be more informative than this one was, I'd have been lost without you smiley - cheers
